The local newspaper on 1st December 1916,reported on the proposal for a public memorial. The decision as to the form the memorial should take was not decided at that time.
The Memorial Hall was built in 1924 and commemorates the men connected to the village who gave their lives in the Great War.
They are listed on plaques on the outside of the Hall, in the village church of St Lawrence and in St James Church in New Bradwell.
