Recent Developments:

1. WordPress website development software

Regular users of this website will notice that some pages, such as the Home page and Update page, are using a different format. The change was necessary because the original Go-Live software package used to develope the site is no longer supported by Adobe and its successor Dreamweaver is far from ideal for our purposes. Consequently we have chosen WordPress, an open source content management system as its replacement. It is envisaged that all new pages will use WordPress but existing pages will remain, for the time being, in the Go-Live format. The WordPress pages are likely to undergo further development with the aim making the website more attractive to the user.

2. World War 1 – ‘Roll of Honour’ for Olney

A link has been provided from the War Memorial tab to the ‘Roll of Honour’ website presenting details of those men from Olney who lost their lives during WW1 whilst serving in the Armed Services and are recorded on Olney War Memorial.

3. History Bibliography

A bibliography for references dealing with many aspects of Olney’s history has been added. It is accessed from the drop down menu, under the Home tab at the top of the page.

4. Family History Advice

Advice when starting a family history project has been added under the Family History tab at the top of the page.
