This is the last Will and Testament of me William Edwards of Yardley Gobion in the County of Northampton ffarmer as follows (that is to say) First I direct that all my just Debts and ffuneral Expences together with the Expences of proving this my Will be fully paid and satisfied And from and after Payment and Satisfaction thereof I Give and Bequeath unto my two friends John Pittam of ffurtho in the said County of Northampton and John Smith of Yardley aforesaid Gentleman or the Survivor of them his Executors or Administrators. All and singular my Household Goods, ffarming Stock and Utensils of Husbandry, ready Money Securities for Money and all and singular other my Personal Estate of what Nature or Kind soever the same may be at the time of my decease My wearing Apparel Excepted which I give to my Brother Thomas Edwards of Towcester In Trust and Confidence Nevertheless that my said Trustees shall and do as soon as Conveniently may be after my decease (or as they shall in their own Judgement think Proper for the benefit of my family) Sell and dispose of all and singular my said Personal Estate and Effects by Public or Private Sale and out of the Money arising there from in the first place Pay and satisfy themselves for whatsoever Expences they shall or may have been at or put unto in the Execution of the Trust hereby in them reposed together with my just Debts as aforesaid And from and after discharge of the same my Will and Meaning is and I do hereby direct my said Trustees to distribute and divide the overplus then remaining into four equal shares and proportions and to pay and apply the same in manner following (that is to say) One fourth part or share thereof unto my now Wife Mary Edwards for her own Sole and separate use One other ffourth Part or Share thereof unto my Daughter Ann (now the Wife of John Bason) for her sole use and disposal whose receipt only Shall be to my said Trustees a sufficient discharge and not Subject to the Controul or Intermeddling of her said Husband One other ffourth Part or Share of such Overplus Money unto my Daughter Sybilea (now the Wife of John Clare) for her sole and separate Use and not Subject to the Intermeddling of her said Husband but her receipt only to be their discharge And the remaining other ffourth Part or Share of such my said Overplus Money unto Mary Horton the natural Daughter of Ann Horton (illeg) upon her attaining the Age of Twenty one Years or day of Marriage which shall first happen In the Mean time my wish is that my said Trustees will Place the same Money out at Interest upon such Security as they shall think Proper and the Money arising therefrom to pay and apply the same for and towards the bringing up and Cloathing such Child but if such Interest Money shall be insufficient for that Purpose then my Will is that they shall be at Liberty to use any Part or all of such Principal Money in so doing as to them or the Survivor of them his Executors or Administrators shall appear requisite And I do hereby nominate and appoint the said John Pittam and John Smith Executors to this my Will hereby revoking all former ones by me made In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my Hand and Seal this Fifteenth day of April One thousand Seven hundred and Ninety Six

Probate On the 9th Nov 1796 John Pittam one of the Executors named in the within Will was then Sworn faithfully to Perform the same a power being reserved for the other Executor when &c And that the Goods Chattels and Credits do not amount in value to the Sum of three Hundred Pounds
