In the name of God Amen the 21 day of September in the year of our Lord 1723 Acording to the computation of the church of Great Britain I John Read of Morend belonging to Yardley Gobion in the parish of Poterspory of the county of Northampton late keeper at pury lodge being in perfect memory and rememberance praised be God for it do make and ordaine this my last will and testament in manor and form following First I bequeith my soul into the hands of allmity God my maker hoping that through the meritorious death and passion of Jesus Christ my only saviour and Redeemer to offer pardon and forgiveness of all my sins my body be buried in Christian burial at the discretion of my Executor hereafter nominated. Item I give and bequeath to my sister sisily white Five pounds in mony and the lotty cow I give and bequeath John Read my eldest brothers son on pound ten shillings Item I give and bequeith to Thomas Read my eldest brothers son the sum of one pounds ten shillings Item I give and bequeith to mary Joanes my eldest brothers dather the sum of one pound ten shillings Item I give and bequeith to ann Ratlife my brother Thomas Reads dather the sum of one pound and ten shillings Item I give and bequeith to Jane Clave my brother Thomas Reads dather the sum Item I give and bequeith mary Read my youngest brothers James his dather the sum of one pound and ten shillings Item I give and bequith to Pat Calvam five shillings Item I give and bequeith to Elizabeth Sanders my spinig wheeland five shillings of mony Item all the rest of my Goods Chatolls and monies I give and bequeith to John Read my youngest brother James his son and do make and constitute him Full executor of this my last will and testament revoking other wills and testaments In witness whereof I have hereunto put my hand and seal and year First above Ritten
