In the name of god amen the iiij daye of may Ano dim 1557 witnessyth that I William browne of Yardley goben of the Parishe of potterspurrie als est purrie in the countie of Northampton husbandman beinge syke in body and hole of mynd thanks be geven to almyghtie god do make my last will and testament in manner and forme folowinge first I bequeth my sole unto almyghtie god to our blessed lady St Marie and to all the hollie companye of heaven and my body to be buried in the churchyard of potterspurrie a aforesaid I bequeth to the blessed sacrament of the same church prodecimi.obilies viijd Itm I bequeth towards the reparations of the ornaments of the same church iij^s iiij^d Itm I bequeth to the reparations of the bells in the same church xij^d I bequeth to the mother churche of peturborowa ij^d I bequeth toward the reparations of the churche of cosgrave xij^d I bequeth to the pore mens box xij^d I bequeth to henry my sone a yewe and a lambe a yearlinge oxe calf a table and iij bordes of the longest I bequethe to John my sone ij yewes and ij lames a hogrell and a yearling calf a table iij bordes of the longest sort I bequeth to Annes my doughter ij ewes and ij Lames and xx^s a table iij bordes I bequethe to ales my doughter x shepe a table iij bordes I bequethe to Jane Spenser an ewe and a lambe The resydue of my goods moveable and unmoveable unbequethed I do geve and bequeth all unto Margerey my wyf and Richard my sone thei to devyd them equallie between them And I Will that any shall occupie half my house and any lande in Yardley gobben feyld in cosgrave fyld and furthowe fyld during ther naturall lyf and also I Will that Richard my sone shall occupie half my lands of Morenge hold unto my wyf duringe her natural lyf And I do order and make mye executors Margerey my wyf and Richard my sone to se this my last Will to be performed I do make supervisors to se this my last Will to be performed Richard stryfyn and Richard Waddington and the to have for their paynes ij^s a pece Witnes her unto Sir Thomas folwill Vicar ther John bowghton Richard Goodman John gwatkyn with others
