Oral Histories

Oral Histories

The Memories Group is made up of a small number of DVHS volunteers, trained to interview people and record their memories of the village, its people and events, and the group has collected a wealth of important information to date. These interviews capture memories and stories on general information or specific themes before it is lost forever. Some extracts can be heard here and DVHS will endeavour to post alternatives as they become available.

The Group photographs the interviewees and any other relevant artefacts that may accompany the digitised recording. The recording is then transcribed, and all outputs are placed into the archive to use for research and educational purposes.

If you have memories you would like to share with us, just get in touch, it doesn't matter whether you're native to the village or you've moved to live here we are interested in hearing your stories.

If you would like to help or be involved in collecting this type of village history, training is available, please contact us deanshangerheritage@gmail.com
