In the Name of God Amen I Edmund Smith Vicar of Stanton Barry in the County of Bucks being of sound Mind and Memory do ordain constitute and appoint this my last Will and Testament in manner following that is to say I give and bequeath all and singular my Goods Chattels and Effects whatsoever to me appertaining all that hereafter to me may appertain to my dearly beloved Wife Ann Smith To have and to hold the same to her sole use and Benefit and to dispose of the same in what Manner soever she shall think proper my just debts and Funeral Expences being first paid and discharged and I do buy these the Presents nominate constitute and appoint my said Wife Ann Smith to be my Sole Executrix of this my Will In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my Hand and Seal this ninth day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand seven Hundred and Forty eight  and in the thirty First year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the second by the Grace of God of Great Britain France and Ireland King Defender of the Faith Ed. Smith Signed and sealed in the Presence of Richd Witmer Mary Duncombe
