- View of the last block of the eastern side of High Street taken in 1974, from the corner with Glyn Street. Toghti’s Italian hairdressers is in the left foreground with Welch’s (latterly Hollands Shop) in the background.
- The same view of the eastern side of the High Street taken in 2006. When the hairdressers closed down the shop was taken over as the village Post Office. Sadly it closed down in 2005 as part of the national cutbacks by the Post Office. Permayne is shown on the right of the picture. In the background what was Welch’s is now a Chinese Takeaway.
- Looking North from what used to be Spencer Street towards the High Street. The photo shows High Street shops and the central block of High Street houses partly demolished.
