This is the Last Will and Testament of John Wardell of Bradwell in the County of Bucks Gentleman I resign my soul to Almighty God in humble hopes of Forgiveness of all my Transgressions through the Mediation of my Blessed Redeemer I Will that all my Legall Debts I shall owe at my decease with my Funeral Expences and the Expences attending the execution of this my Will be paid I give and devise to my Brother George Wardell his Heirs and assigns for ever all and every of my Real and Personal Estate of what nature Kind or Quality soever or wheresoever within the Kingdom of England Charged and Chargeable with the payment of the several Sums of Annuities and Payments are hereafter mentioned that is to say I give to my Brother Christopher Wardell One thousand pounds to be paid in Six Months after my decease I give to my sister Jane Walker Twenty Pounds a Year for and during the term of her natural Life Clear of all Taxes to be paid at Four Quarterly Payments that is to say the Fifth day of January the Fifth day of April the Fifth day of July and the Tenth day of October in every year the First payment to be made on such of the said Days of Payment and shall next happen after my decease and I direct that the same be paid unto her own hands and not to any person or persons she may appoint but that the same be for her own use and benefit and shall not be Subject or liable to the Debts demands or Control of her present or any future Husband but that her receipt Notwithstanding her Coverture to be a Sufficient Discharge for Payment of the same I Give to Each of the Children are of the said Jane Walker when they shall attain the age of twenty one years One hundred Pounds I Give to my dear Wife’s Aunt Susanna Russell (Wife of Joshua Russell) Ten pounds a Year for and during the Term of her natural Life Clear of all Taxes to be paid at four Quarterly payments that is to say the Fifth day of January the Fifth day of April the Fifth day of July and the Tenth day of October in every year the First payment to be made on such of the said Days of Payment and shall next happen after my decease and I direct that the same be paid into her own hands and not to any person or persons she may appoint but if that the same be for her own use and benefit and shall not be subject or liable to the debts demands or Control of her present or any future Husband but to that her receipt notwithstanding her Coverture to be a Sufficient discharge for payment of the same I give to my dear Wife’s Aunt Martha Rowland Ten Pounds a Year for and during the term of her natural Life Clear of all Taxes to be Paid at Four Quarterly Payments that is to say January the Fifth day of April the Fifth day of July and the Tenth day of October in every year the First payment to be made on such of the said Days of Payment and shall next happen after my decease and I direct that the same shall be Paid unto her own hands and not to any Person pr Persons to whom she may assign the same but that the same be for her own use and benefit and shall not be any ways Subject or liable to any Debts She may have Contracted but she to receive the same and her receipt only to be a discharge for the same I Give to the Children of my dear Wife’s Cousin William Burnill when they shall attain the Age of Twenty one Years as follows to Mary Wardell Burnill (to whom my was Godmother) Four hundred pounds and to every other Child he had living by his present Wife at my dear Wife’s decease One hundred pounds Each I Give to Mr  John Didsbury of Pall Mall Westminster Shoemaker One hundred pounds to be paid within Six Months after my decease and I Constitute and appoint my said Brother George Wardell and the said John Didsbury Executors of this my Will hereby revoking all former Wills by me heretofore made and do ratify this Writing contained in two sheets of Paper as and for my last Will In Witness whereof I the said John Wardell have to the First Sheet set my hand and to the Second my hand and seal this twenty sixth day of October in the Year of our Lord One thousand Seven hundred and Seventy John Wardell Signed Sealed Published and declared by the said John Wardell as and for his last Will in the presence of us who have subscribed our Names as Witnesses at his request in his Presence and in the Presence of each other John Coates John Drayson Edwd Grant
