Doiley Marks or Markes 1753
This is the last Will and Testament of Me Doiley Markes of North Crawley in the County of Bucks Gentleman being weak and infirm in Body but of sound and disposing mind memory and understanding which I make and ordain in manner and form following that is to say First I give and Devise unto my Brother Richard Marks and his Heirs All my Lands Tenements and Hereditaments whatsoever situate lying and being in North Crawley aforesaid subject and chargeable with the Payment of the Mortgage Money thereon due to Mr John Peers and all Interest due or to grow due for the same Next I give and devise unto my Nephew Thomas Marshall who now lives with me and the Heirs of his Body lawfully issuing All that my Farm House Lands and premises with half of Dyers Moores Situate standing lying and being in Adderbury and Milton or either of them in the County of Oxford now in the Possession and Occupation of John Foskett And also all that half yard Land in Adderbury and Milton aforesaid or either of them now in the possession and occupation of Richard Bellow his assignee or assigns with their and every of their Rights Members and Appurtenances To hold to my said Nephew Thomas Marshall and the Heirs of his Body lawfully issuing and for default of such Issue I give and devise the said Farm Lands and Premises so devised to my said Nephew Thomas Marshall with their and every of their Appurtenances unto my Nephew Edward Shaw Son of my Eldest sister Elizabeth and to his Heirs and Assigns for ever Next I give and bequeath unto the said Edward Shaw my Nephew the sum of One hundred pounds of lawfull money of Great Britian and I give to his two Sisters Elizabeth and Mary Shaw my Nieces Fifty pounds of like lawfull Money And I also give to her Daughter Constance White the Sum of one Hundred Pounds of like lawfull Money Next I give and bequeath unto the Three Children of my kinsman Joseph Brown of Lutton in the County of Bedford Tallow Chandler and Grocer the Sum of Fifty pounds a peice of like lawfull money next I give and bequeath to the Two Children of Henry Hobbs of Dunstable in the County of Bedford Shopkeeper the sum of Fifty pounds a peice of like lawfull Money Next I give and bequeath unto my Sister Ann Marks the sum of One hundred pounds of like lawfull Money Next I give and bequeath to Hannah Hitchman of Adderbury aforesaid Spinster the Sum of Twenty pounds of like lawfull Money Also I give and Bequeath unto Elizabeth Tandy of Newport Pagnell in the County Bucks Widow the Sum of Five pounds Also I give and bequeath unto Sarah Park of Lutton aforesaid Spinster the Sum of Fifty pounds of like lawfull Money All which said Legacies above mentioned I will and direct shall be paid by my Executors within Twelve Months next after my decease All the rest residue land remainder of my Mannors Messuages Cottages Lands Tenements Hereditaments and Real Estate whatsoever and wheresoever not herein otherwise disposed of And also all my Goods Chattels and Personal Estate (after payment of three hundred pounds and Interest due to my Sister Ann Marks on Note under my Hand my other Debts Legacies herein by me given and bequeathed and Funeral Expences Except the Mortgage Money due to Mr John Seers as aforesaid) I give and bequeath unto my said Brother Richard Marks and my said Nephew Thomas Marshall their Heirs Executors Administrators and Assigns And I do hereby make ordain constitute and appoint my said Brother Richard Maeks and the said Thomas Marshall Executors of this my last Will and Testament And I do hereby revoke disannull and make void all former and other Wills by me heretofore made and do declare this to be my last Will and Testament In Witness whereof I the said Doiley Marks the Testator have to this my last Will and Testament set my hand and Seal this Thirteenth Day of May One Thousand Seven Hundred and Fifty One Doiley Marks Signed sealed Published and declared by the said Doiley Marks the Testator for and as his last Will and Testament in the presence of us and attested by us in his presence and in the presence of each other John Taylor John Carmill Jno Hucks
This Will was proved at London on the First Day of August in the Year of Our Lord Ons Thousand seven hundred and Fifty Three Before the Right Honourable Sir George Lee Knight Doctor of Laws Master Leeper or Commissary of the Prerogative Court of Canterbury lawfully constituted by the solemn and sincere Declaration of Affirmation of Richard Marks and Thomas Marshall the Executors named in the said Will to Credits of the said Deceased having first made the Declaration or Affirmation aforesaid according to Act of Parliament by Commission duly to Administer
