In the name of God Amen I Niccolls Hackett of North Crawley in the county of Bucks Esquire being well in body but of sound and perfect mind and memory praise to be Almighty God to make and Ordain this my last Will and Testament in manner following in the first place I resign and commend my Soul into the hands of Almighty God my Creator hoping through the meritorious death and passion of Jesus Christ my Saviour and Redeemer receive free pardon of all my Sins and as for my body I Commit the same and to the Earth from whence it came to be decently buryed at the direction of my Executors herein after named and as for that worldly estate it hath pleased God to bestow on me I dispose thereof as followeth I Give and Devise unto my Son-in-Law Sir Nicholas Carew Barronett Fifty pounds to buy him mourning Item I Give and Devise unto my Brother and S Sister Farrer fifty pounds apiece to buy them mourning I Give to my Gardiner and Coachman that shall live with me at my decease forty pounds apiece and to my Cookmaid and Chambermaid that shall live with me at my decease forty pounds apiece and to such Servant that shall be in my Housekeepers place at the time of my decease I Give twenty shillings all which said Legacyes so given to my Servants shall be paid to them within six months next after my decease And in case John Toll my present Coachman shall be living with me at my decease I Give to him besides the said forty pounds Legacy all my Wearing Apparell both Woolen and Linnen swords Boots Shoes and Spurs saving and except my three Nightgowns which I Give to my Maid Servant the Cook and Chambermaid who shall be living with me at my decease to be equally divided between them Item I Give to the poor of North Crawley aforesaid ten pounds to be paid and distributed amongst them by the direction of my Daughter Carew the Wife of the said Sir Nichols Carew that day Month next after my Funerall Item I Give and Devise unto Mrs Elizabeth Grimley late Servant of my Daughter Carew and now Wife of Mr Humphrey Grimley All my Tenths or Tythes and Estate at little Woolston in the said County of Bucks to Hold to her and her Assigns for and during the term of her natural life and from and after her decease I Give and Devise the said Tenths and Tyths and all my Estate at little Woolston aforesaid unto my said Daughter Elizabeth Carew her Heirs and Assigns forever Item I Give and Devise unto Sir Pynsent Chernork of Holcott in the County of Bedford Barronett his Heirs and Assignes for ever All my shares Right Title and Interest of in or to the great Tyths and two yard Land in Meeres Ashby in the County of Northampton and all my right of nomination Disposition or Presentation to three Exhibitions which were of the Gift of Mr Justinian Bracegirdle deceased and given to any Scholar or Member of any Hall or Colledge in the University of Oxford In Trust that the said Sir Pynsent Chernock and his Heirs shall from time to time give and dispose of the said Exhibitions and Vacancy To such scholar and scholars as he or they think fit Item I Give and Devise unto the said Sir Pynsant Chernock his Heirs and Assigns my third turn and right of Presenting to the Vicarage and Church of Meers Ashby aforesaid Item I Give and Devise unto John Mansell of Cosgrave in the County of Northampton Clerk and William Thomas of Hannington in the County Clerk their Heirs and Assigns forever All that Messuage or Tenement with the Closes Grounds Meadows Wood ground and other Appurtenances in Astwood in the said County of Bucks and which I lately purchased of Mr Charles Dymock and others and also all that Close or Pightle of Pasture in North Crawley aforesaid which I lately purchased of Edward Dytom and also all those five Acres of Arrable Land in North Crawley aforesaid which I lately purchased of George Burge in Trust that then they the said John Mansell and William Thomson and the Survivor of them and the Heirs of such Survivor do and shall permit and suffer my said Daughter Elizabeth Carew to receive and take the rents issues and profits of all and singular the said Premises unto the said Elizabeth Carew or to such person or persons and to and for such use and uses intent and Purposes and in such sort manner and form as my said Daughter Elizabeth Carew shall at anytime or times during her Coverture and notwithstanding the same as when she shall be sole and unmarryed by any Writing or Writings under her hand and Seal Attested by two or more credible Witnesses or by her last Will and Testament in Writing direct limit and appoint the same or any part thereof and on this further Trust and Confidence that they the said John Mansell and William Thomson and the Survivor of them and their Heirs of such Survivor do and shall Grant and Convey the Inheritance of the said Premises or my part thereof to such person or person and to and for such uses intents and purposes as my Daughter Elizabeth Carew shall at anytime or times during her Coverture and notwithstanding the same as when she shall be sole and unmarryed by any Writing or Writings under her hand and Seal Attested by two or more credible Witnesses or by her last Will and Testament in Writing direct him and appoint the same and for want of such direction limitation and appointment by my said Daughter Carew in her life time In Trust that they the said John Mansell and William Thomson and the Survivor of them and the \heirs of such Survivor do and shall from and after my said Daughter Grant and Convey the said Premises to the Heir at Law of my said Daughter Item I Give and Devise unto the said John Mansell and William Thomson and the Survivor of them their Executors Administrators and Assigns All that my Farm and College Lease at Salford in the said County of Bedford and the remainder of my Lease in being of my Estate at Hartwell in the said County of Northampton and also other my Goods Chattles and Personall Estate after my debts Legacyes and Funerall expences shall be paid on Trust nevertheless that they the said John Mansell and William Tomson and the Survivor of The m and the Executors and Administrators of the Survivor of them do and shall from time to time pay apply and dispose of the rents Issues and profits of the said Farm and also the said Farm and of the remainder of the said Lease in Hartwell aforesaid and all other the rest of my Goods Chattles and personall Estate to and for such Person and Persons use and uses intents and purposes as my said Daughter Elizabeth Carew shall by any Writings Attested in the presence of two or more creditable Witnesses or by her last Will and Testament in writing direct Limit and appoint the same and for want of such direction limitation and appointment shall pay and dispose of the same to her the said Elizabeth Carew her Executors Administrators and Assigns my Will and meaning being that the said Sir Nicholas Carew shall not intermeddle with or have any thing to do with my Reall or personal Estate other then to receive and be paid the said Legacy of Fifty pounds before mentioned to begiven to him and my Will and meaning is that my said Daughters Receipt or Receipts and appointment and appointments aforesaid shall from time to time be a sufficient discharge and discharges to the said John Mansell and William Thomson their Heirs Executors Administrators and Assigns and further my Will and meaning is that all reasonable Charges that they the said John Mansell and William Thomson their Heirs Executors or Administrators shall be at and put to in the Execution of the Trust shall be allowed Reimbursed and paid unto by my said Daughter her Heirs Executors and Administrators out of my said Reall and personal Estate And I do make and Ordain the said John Mansell and William Thomson Executors of this my last Will and Testament in Trust as aforesaid And I do Give to each of them for their trouble twenty pounds apeice besides their Charges and I doe revoke all former Wills by me made In Witness whereof I have hereunto Set my hand and Seal the one and thirtieth day of May in the sixth year of the reigne of our Soveraigne Lord George by the grace of God of
