Publick footways

As we the said Commissioners have ascertained set out and appointed and by these presents do ascertain set out and appoint the following pub lick footways (that is to say) :

One publick footway from and out of the publick road hereinbefore described from the East End of North Crawley at or near the north west corner of the second allotment to the said Thomas Lowndes through and over a small part of an allotment to the said Richard Lowndes and through and over part of the said second allotment to the said Thomas Lowndes on the north side thereof to a stile at the south west corner of the said Old Inclosure called New Pasture .

One other publick footway from and out of the last at the said south west corner of the said New Close through and over the said second allotment to the said Thomas Lowndes to the north west corner of a pightle at Broad Mead belonging to the said John Smith and from thence by the west side of the said pightle through and over the allotment to the said Ann Bel sham to a stile leading into an Old Inclosure belonging to the said John Kightley.

One other publick footway from the north east corner of a garden at the East End of North Crawley in the possession of John Cave through and over an allotment to the said Richard Lowndes along the top of Pimnocks Piece by the east side of the homstead of the said John Cave and of John Stanton into the pub lick road hereinbefore described from Pound Lane to the north west corner of New Pasture.

One other publick footway from the north end of Pound Lane through and over an allotment to the said Richard Lowndes in Great Crouches and Mill Hill field and the allotment to the said William Lowndes in Edensea Close to a stile in an Old Inclosure belonging to the said Willliam Lowndes called Clarks Close.

One other pub lick footway from a stile on the north side or end of a pightle at Little Crawley belonging to Thomas Hartwell through and over the allotment to the said Catherine Lowndes Stone in the Garden Field to Up End.

One other public footway from the west end of Little Crawley through and over the allotment to the said Catherine Lowndes Stone in Garden Field into through and over the east end of the eighth allotment to the said Thomas Lowndes into through and over the allotment to the said Charles Chester in Chicheley Park field to a foot plank and stile leading in the Old Inclosures of Chicheley .

One other publick footway from and out of the publick road hereinbefore described from North Crawley to Brook End at the corner of the Rose and Crown alehouse on the north side of the said alehouse through and over the allotments to the said Catherine Lowndes Stone, Richard Lowndes and Thomas Lowndes to another foot plank leading into other Old Inclosures in Chicheley aforesaid .

One other publick footway from a stile leading out of the south side of the Home Close of the said Richard Lowndes in the occupation of Thomas Barratt through and over the allotment to the said Richard Lowndes in the Moors Field on the same track the present foot road now goes from North Crawley towards Hurst End till it falls in the publick road hereinbefore described from North Crawley to Hurst End at the north west corner of the allotment to the said Lord Trevor .

One other public footway from and out of the publick road hereinbefore described towards Astwood at the foot plank leading into Singeley Meadow over a small part of an allotment to the said Richard Lowndes to a stile leading into the said Doctor Atterbury Surrey Close at the south east corner of the same .

One other public footway from the north end of a certain lane on the north side of North Crawley which lies between two pightles of Home Closes belonging to the said Thomas Griggs through and over the allotment to the said Thomas Griggs to a stile on the south side of a close called Bakers Bushes belonging to the said Henry Higgins .

One other pub lick footway from a stile on the north side of the said close of the said Henry Higgins called Bakers Bushes through and over the allotment to the said John Neal to a stile leading into an Old Inclosure at Little Crawley belonging to the Master and Governors of Queen Ann s Hospital at Newport Pagnell

aforesaid in the occupation of the said John Neal .

One other pub lick footway from and out of a publick footway hereinbefore awarded as leading from North Crawley to Bakers Bushes at or near the north east corner of the Home Close of the said John Bacchus in North Crawley to a stile leading into the south end of the said Johhn Bacchus t s pightle at Little Crawley.

One other publick footway from the stile at the north end of the said John Bacchus’s pightle at Little Crawley over the allotment to the said Catherine Lowndes Stone on Little Crawley Green into the pub lick road on the said Green.

One other pub lick footway from the house or homestead of the said Philip Birt in the occupation of Slater through and over the north end of the allotment of the said William Lowndes in Lye Field to a stile leading into an Old Inclosure belonging to the said William Lowndes called Stocking Close in the possession of John Burge.

One other pub lick footway from a lane leading out of the north side of North Crawley through and over the west end and north side of a close called Little Crouches now allotted to the said Thomas Griggs into the private carriage and publick bridle road herein awarded from North Crawley to Robert Cowley’s lane at the north east corner of the said Little Crouches .

One other publick footway from a stile near the south east corner of the allotment to the said William Foskett in Tindery Field through and over the south side of the said allotment to the said William Foskett and the south side of an allotment to the said David Mortier called the Scratchinghills.

One other publick footway from a stile leading out of the Home Close of the said Richard Lowndes in the possession of William Barratt in North Crawley aforesaid through and over an allotment to the said Richard Lowndes through and over the end of the first allotment to the said Lord Trevor and through and over the west side of that part of the allotment to the said William Cooke which lies in Moors Field to a stile leading into an Old Inclosure belonging to the said William Cooke called Thurfy Close.

One other pub lick footway from and out of the publick carriage road herein awarded from Little Crawley to Chicheley near’ the north west corner of the allotment to the said Richard Hall and across the same allotment and the allotment to the said Elizabeth Hall to a foot plank across the brook and leading in the open fields of Chicheley.

One other pub lick footway from the west end of Brook End through and over three of the allotments to the said Thomas Lowndes to a footplank leading in the Old Inclosures of Chicheley aforesaid on the same track the present footway now goes from Brook End towards Newport Pagnell .

And that it shall now be lawful for any person or persons to use any roads or highways either pub lick or private over the said New Inclosures on foot or with horses, cattle or carriages other than such roads or highways as are herein in pursuance of the said Act ascertained set out and appointed as aforesaid.

And we do further award order regulate and determine that where any private road or way is hereinbefore set out or appointed to go through or pass over any of the said allotments for the use of any person or persons whatsoever not being the owner or owners of such allotments it shall and may be lawful to and for all and every one of the owner and owners occupier and occupiers of such allotments respectively to make use of such private roads and ways .

And also from time to time to have and take the herbage thereof or growing and renewing thereupon to his and their several and separate uses and benefit anything therein contained to the contrary thereof notwithstanding .

And that every person and persons to whom any allotment of any lands through which any of the said publick roads which are hereinbefore ordered to remain or are set out and appointed shall lead at all time hereafter take and enjoy the grass and herbage growing and renewing thereon .

And also the grass and herbage growing and renewing on such part and parts of the said roads and highways (not leading through or being part of any other allotment) as do next adjoin to their said allotments respectively to and for his her and their sole use and benefit exclusive of all other persons whosoever.

And we the Commissioners do allot and appoint that all such trees underwoods thorns hedges bushes or shrub and also such hedges and fences now standing on the premises as boundary or fences for any of the new inclosures or allotments herein as aforesaid for which satisfaction hath been made before executing of this award by any of the proprietors respectively shall go and belong to the persons to whom the lands were on the same do grow or are allotted.

In witness whereof we the said Commissioners at our meeting this day held at the Bull Inn in Stony Stratford in the said county of Bucks for putting the said Act in execution and also we the said Robert Lord Trevor, Charles Chester, Richard Lowndes, Catherine Lowndes Stone, William Lowndes, Thomas Lowndes and Michael Nash, have hereunto do set our hands and seals the Eleventh day of June in the 13th year of our Sovereign Lord George the Third, by the Grace of God and Great Britain, France and Ireland, King Defender of the Faith, and so forth, and in the year or our Lord One Thousand Seven Hundreds and Seventy Three.
