THOMAS LOWNDES & His Successors Rectors of the Parish Church of North Crawley

In lieu of all GLEBE lands and rights of Common belonging to the Rectory in the open and common fields and commonable lands to be divided and inclosed all these four parcels of land that is to say:

All that parcel of land situate in FIELDS END FIELD containing 14 ACRES – 3 ROOD – 18 PERCHES including all roads and ways bounded on the EAST or SOUTH EAST by lands awarded to JOHN BOLDING on the SOUTH and SOUTH WEST by old inclosures belonging to the RECTOR and RICHARD LOWNDES on part of the WEST or NORTH WEST and by and allotment to RICHARD LOWNDES on part of the NORTH and part of NORTH WEST by an inclosed PIGHTLE belonging to MICHAEL NASH on the small remaining part of the NORTH WEST by RICHARD LOWNDES and on the remaining part of the NORTH and NORTH EAST and on the EAST by old inclosures now or late belonging to THOMAS SMITH

Another parcel of land situate in the MOORS FIELD containing 18 ACRES – 1 ROOD – 33 PERCHES bonded on part of the EAST and part of the NORTH by an allotment to EDWARD SHAW, SARAH MARSHALL, DOROTHY WHITE and ANN MARKS on the other part of the EAST or NORTH EAST by a PIGHTLE at BROOKMEAD belonging to JOHN SMITH and on part of the SOUTH or SOUTH EAST and a small part of the EAST by an allotments belonging to ANN BELSHAM on the remaining part of the SOUTH or SOUTH EAST by an allotment to LORD TREVOR and on part of the WEST by an allotment to the RECTOR in lieu of tithes and part of the NORTH and the remaining part of the WEST by an allotment to RICHARD LOWNDES and on remaining parts of the EAST and NORTH by an old inclosure belonging to RICHARD LOWNDES called NEW PASTURE

Another parcel of land situate on BERRYSTEAD PIECE on the MOORS FIELD containing 2 ACRES – 3 ROODS – 21 PERCHES bounded on the EAST, the NORTH, the WEST and the SOUTH by allotments to RICHARD LOWNDES

Another parcel of land situate in the MOORS FIELD containing 1 ROOD – 1 PERCH including all roads and ways bounded on part of the EAST and part of the SOUTH by old inclosures of LORD TREVOR on the remaining part of the SOUTH and the WEST by allotments to LORD TREVOR on the NORTH by a PIGHTLE belonging to JOHN HIGHTLEY at BROADMEAD and on the remaining part of the EAST by a lane leading through the old inclosures of NORTH CRAWLEY which said four allotments described and set out to THOMAS LOWNDES and his successors Rectors in the judgement of us commissioners adjudge the same to be the amount of Tithes of the old inclosures belong to the said RECTORY being first deducted and added to and comprised in the allotment a full equivalent and compensation for all the GLEBE lands and right of Common now belonging to the RECTORY of NORTH CRAWLEY and bears an improved value or like proportion as near as maybe with the other allotments to the several other proprietors and owners of land lying in the said open common fields, meadows and waste grounds and which said third allotment is set out on purpose to be exchanged with RICHARD LOWNDES for an old inclosure called SMITHS SLIPE and the fourth allotment to the RECTOR is set out on purpose to be exchanged with LORD TREVOR for a SLIPE of ground adjoining the 10 ACRE CLOSE belonging to the RECTOR

Two parcels of land, one parcel of land situate in the MOORS FIELD containing 19 ACRES – 2 ROODS – 1 PERCH bounded on the EAST and SOUTH and part of the WEST by an allotment to LORD TREVOR and on the remaining part of the WEST and on the NORTH or NORTH WEST by an allotment to RICHARD LOWNDES and one other parcel of land situate in the MOORS FIELD and in TICKFORD PARK containing 177 ACRES – 2 ROODS – 20 PERCHES including all roads and ways bounded on part of the SOUTH EAST and part of the NORTH EAST by an allotment to the said JOSEPH PAGE and on the other part of the SOUTH or SOUTH EAST, SOUTH WEST and EAST by an allotment to DAVID MORTIER on the remaining part of the SOUTH by old inclosures in CRAWLEY or HURST END called SCRATCHING HILLS belonging to JOSEPH PAGE and AMBROSE REDDAL gentlemen on the WEST and the remaining part of the SOUTH WEST by a wood and old inclosures in the Parish of Moulsoe and by an open field in the Parish of Newport Pagnell called TICKFORD FIELD on several parts of the NORTH WEST, NORTH and NORTH EAST by lands awarded to the RECTOR in lieu of Tithes of the open field grass ground and by an allotment in lieu of the Tithes of old inclosures on part of the NORTH EAST by an old inclosure at BROOK END belonging to PRISCILLA JOHNSON on part of the EAST by the TOWN STREET at BROOK END on other parts of the EAST, the NORTH and NORTH EAST by an old inclosure at BROOK END belonging to the said THOMAS SANDON on the other part of the EAST the remaining part of the EAST by lands awarded to RICHARD LOWNDES which said two allotments to THOMAS LOWNDES and his successors are equal in value to one sixth of all the arable lands lying within the open common fields

A parcel of land situate in MILL HILL FIELD containing 39 ACRES – 1 ROOD – 36 PERCHES including all roads and ways bounded on the EAST by an allotment to the RECTOR in lieu of the Tithes of old inclosures on the SOUTH by other lands allotted to the said THOMAS LOWNDES on the WEST by the said open field in the Parish of Newport Pagnell called TICKFORD FIELD on the NORTH WEST and  NORTH by old inclosures in the open fields of CHICHELEY which allotment to the said THOMAS LOWNDES and his successors is equal in value to one ninth of all the meadows and waste grounds within the said manors and parish intended to be inclosed which said three allotments for the said THOMAS LOWNDES are declared to be in lieu of all Tithes, Moduses, Compositions and payments for Tithes arising and payable from the said open and common fields, meadows and waste grounds

And whereas there are certain old inclosure within the said manors and parish of NORTH CRAWLEY belonging to ROBERT LORD TREVOR, RICHARD LOWNDES, CHARLES CHESTER, CATHERINE LOWNDES STONE, THOMAS LOWNDES, THOMAS SANDON, WILLIAM COOKE, EDWARD COOKE, WILLIAM FOSKETT, DAVID MORTIER, FRANCES RIGG, THOMAS GRIGGS, ELIZABETH BRANDON, RICHARD SHARP, ANN BELSHAM, ROBERT COWLEY, WILLIAM BARRETT, MICHAEL NASH, SAMUAL WRIGHT, JOHN NEAL, JOSEPH PAGE, BENONI CUTHBERTSON, JOHN TAYLOR, RALPH ABBOTT, ELIZABETH HALL, THE TRUSTEES or FEOFFEES of CRAWLEY CHARITY, JOHN BACCHUS, THOMAS MOORS and ROBERT ANDREWS out of which the said THOMAS LOWNDES the RECTOR is entitled to great and small Tithes or some Moduses or Compositions in lieu thereof and it would be for the benefit of several owners and proprietors of old inclosures within the said manors and parish to have the same freed and discharged from all Tithes, Moduses or Compositions in lieu thereof

All that parcel of land situate in the MILL HILL FIELD and GARDEN FIELD and CHICHELEY PARK FIELD containing 138 ARCES – 1 ROOD – 9 PERCHES including all roads and ways bounded on part of the NORTH EAST by an allotment to the said THOMAS SANDON on part of the SOUTH EAST by an allotment to the said CATHERINE LOWNDES STONE and an allotments to the said CHARLES CHESTER to be exchanged on parts of the SOUTH, the EAST and the NORTH by an allotment to the said CATHERINE LOWNDES STONE to be  exchanged with he said RECTOR on other part of the EAST by allotments to the said CATHERINE LOWNDES STONE and RICHARD LOWNDES on other parts of the SOUTH and EAST by the allotment to BENONI CUTHBERTSON on other part of the EAST by an old inclosure or PIGHHTLE at BROOK END belonging to JOHN GOODMAN on the other part of the SOUTH by the lane leading into BROOK END on part of the WEST and other part of the SOUTH by an old inclosure belonging to LORD TREVOR on other parts of the SOUTH, the WEST and the EAST by another PIGHTLE belonging to PRISCILLA JOHNSON on other part of the SOUTH and other part of the WEST by allotments to the said RECTOR and other parts of the NORTH, the NORTH WEST and NORTH by the open fields of CHICHELEY on the remaining parts of the NORTH EAST, the WEST and the SOUTH by allotments to ELIZABETH HALL and RICHARD HALL and on the remaining part of the NORTH WEST by an allotment to CHARLES CHESTER which to THOMAS LOWNDES and his successors rectors the commissioners adjudge to be full satisfaction for such Tithes, Moduses, Compositions as are arising from old inclosures the value of the whole open fields lands and right of Common of them the said JOHN BACCHUS, JOHN TAYLOR and EDWARD COOKE and whereas there are other old inclosures within the said manors and parish the owners have no lands or grounds in the said open common fields, meadows or waste grounds or have not a sufficient quantity to make an allotment in lieu of Tithes, Moduses, Compositions

We commissioners order award and direct that the several owners and proprietors of such old inclosures whose names are particularly mentioned in the first schedule shall annually pay to THOMAS LOWNDES and his successors the respective sums against their names in lieu of Tithes, Moduses, and Compositions as follows:

One quarterly payment or fourth part on the 5 April, 5 July, 10 October and 1 January in each and every year for ever to be in lieu of all his GLEBE lands, Tithes, Moduses and rights of Common arising within the manors and parish of NORTH CRAWLEY surplus fees, Mortuaries and Burials of strangers accepted the hedges, ditches and fences of the second allotment to THOMAS LOWNDES on the part of the NORTH next to an allotment of RICHARD LOWNDES at PINNOCKS PIECE and the hedges, ditches and fences of the sixth allotment to THOMAS LOWNDES on part of the EAST across the lane into BROOK END on that part of the EAST next to the allotment of DAVID MORTIER which lies between the SOUTH MEADOW and the LEYS shooting into SOUTH MEADOW the hedges, ditches and fences of the sixth and seventh allotments to THOMAS LOWNDES on that part of the WEST next the open and common field called TICKFORD FIELD in the Parish of Newport Pagnell which have not of right ought not to have been repaired by the owners or occupiers of lands in TICKFORD FIELD and the hedges, ditches and fences of the seventh allotment to THOMAS LOWNDES on part of the SOUTH and EAST next to the street or road leading into BROOK END and on that part next to the open fields of CHICHELEY where the boundary of the Parish deviates from the course of the old brook

We direct during the term of 7 years to be maintained and repaired by the expense of all proprietors of lands, grounds and common rights in the open and common fields and commonable lands except THOMAS LOWNDES and his successors by an equal (pound?) rate and that after 7 years the hedges, ditches and fences shall be maintained by THOMAS LOWNDES and his successors
