Thomas Dewberry 1717
In the Name of God Amen I Thomas Dewberry of North Crawley in the County of Bucks Clerke being ill in body but of sound and perfect mind and memory praised be Almighty God doe make and Ordayne this my Last Will and Testament in manner following First I commend my Soul into the hands of Almighty God my Creator hopeing through the meritorious Death and passion of Jesus Christ my Saviour and Redeemer to receive free pardon of all my Sinns and as for my body I commit the same to the Earth from whence it came to be decently buryed at the discretion of my Executrix hereinafter named Item I give and devise into Martha my Loving Wife all those two and Forty Acres of arrable Land ley and Meadow ground by estimation lyeing dispersed in the Open and common Feild of North Crawley aforesaid and which I lately purchased of Mr White and all other my Reall Estate in North Crawley aforesaid or elsewhere To hold unto her for and dureing the terme of her naturall and from and after her decease I give and Devise the same unto my three Daughters Martha Sarah and Catherine their Heires and assignes forever Item I give and devise unto my Said Wife the yearly Summe of Tenn pounds to be Secured raised and paid unto her during her Naturall Life out of the Interest and produre of my Personal Estate Item I give and devise unto my said Wife the Summe of Five pounds Item I give and devise unto my Son John Dewberry the summe of Ten pounds Item all the Rest and residue of my debts and Funerall Expences shall be paid I give and devise unto my said three daughters Martha Sarah and Catherine equally to be divided between them and I doe hereby make and Ordeyne my said Wife Martha Dewberry full and Sole Executrix of this my Last Will and Testament Revokeing all former Wills by me made and I doe Desire that my said Wife will act in her Executorshipp with advise and assistance of my very good Friend Mr George Woughton of Malsoe to whom I give and devise one Guinea to be paid unto him within a Month after my decease out of my personal Estate besides all his Charges and Expences to the poore of North Crawley aforesaid Fifty Shillings to be paid the next Sunday after my Funerall into the hands of the Overseers of the poore to be Distributed by them In Wittnesse whereof I have hereunto Sett my hand and Seale the Thirteenth Day of October in the Third yeare of the Reigne of our Soveraigne Lord George by the Grace of God of Great Britian France and Ireland King Defender of the Faith etc. annoq domini 1716 (Thomas Deweberry) Signed Sealed Published and Declared to be the Last Will and Testament of the said Thomas Dewberry and attested by us in the presence of the Testator William Smyth Robert Fish Leo: Thomson
