Andy King is currently researching his 4xgreat uncle Philip Lock.

In 1843 he was tried and convicted of shooting his friend, and was sentenced to 10 years transportation though never made it beyond Portsmouth, spending six years on a convict hulk.

Andy has also been researching the 13 other men who were convicted at the same assizes and sent to the same convict hulk in Plymouth Devonport. In doing so he has learnt a lot about the prison hulks, the lives of the prisoners, the appeals process and transportation.
