This talk about Bletchley Park is based on the one-hour guided walking tour. The tour will take you from the origins of cryptology (the use of codes and cyphers) and therefore codebreaking, through the formation of the Government Code and Cypher School, why they relocated to Bletchley Park, the recruitment of staff in the early part of WW2, how the raw data was obtained and delivered to Bletchley Park, how it was worked on in the early days. It will also look at how that process started and then how it moved on from a “Cottage Industry” to the world’s first “Intelligence Factory”.
Non-members £4.00.
