A collection of memories describing the build-up, billeting and troop movements around Roade.

Remembering the fallen from Roade, who didn’t return.

Together with the story of one soldier, Richard Dyke from Roade, who landed on D-Day in the first glider at Pegasus Bridge. The first allied troops to see action on French soil at 16 minutes past midnight on 6th June 1944.
