This is an update on progress following the MKHA workshop on the The Future of Heritage held at the City Discovery Centre on 20th April 2024.
A report on the workshop has now been prepared and reviewed by the workshop participants, and by the Executive Committee. It is available via the link below.
The report summarises the purpose of the workshop, the challenges faced and potential opportunities, reviews and analyses the feedback, and importantly identifies a number of recommendations for MKHA and its members to consider. It also includes a pdf copy of the workshop PowerPoint slides. It is fully understood that not all the recommendations will apply to all MKHA members.
The MKHA Executive Committee has already started to draw up an Action Plan for the Association as an organisation based on the recommendations in the report, which it will share at a future meeting.
We ask that you consider the recommendations in the report for your own group to ensure the Future of Heritage. The Executive Committee are happy to discuss the implications, and will hold an interactive discussion at a future meeting (probably at the AGM on September 25th September at Milton Keynes Museum).
