Speaker: Victor Jenkins.

In 1890, it was clear that Birmingham needed a new and bigger supply of water to support its growing population and industry. A project was launched to build four dams in the Elan Valley in Wales and a pipeline to deliver water to the city. In 2026, the dams and pipeline continue to deliver water to Birmingham.

In 1992, this project was adopted as an example of excellent project management and was used in the training of project managers in the public and private sectors. Our speaker will take us through the informal talk used to introduce those trainees to the project.

Non-members £4.00.
