Milton Keynes Central Library, 555 Silbury Boulevard, Milton Keynes MK9 3HL

  • Competitions and games of skill – mosaic making, castle building, Victorian parlour games and much more – with prizes too!
  • Historical displays and heritage film presentations
  • Morning and afternoon speaker programme on historical subjects.
  • Family history, heraldry, metal detecting, cosplay
  • Discounted maps and history books on sale

Places on the speaker events and documentary video are free and everyone is welcome to attend. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Advance booking is no longer required and all existing pre-booked seats will be reserved.

Morning session

10.30 am Centuries of care: Great Linford’s alms-houses and their people by John Gosling
11.50am Bancroft: A snapshot into community spaces in ancient Milton Keynes by Tabatha Barton

Lunchtime screening

1.00pm The Point – memories of an iconic building New documentary video on our recent history by Living Archive

Afternoon session

2.00pm The Butchers of Woughton (title tbc) by Julian Hunt
2.45pm ‘The Rageing and Dreadful Fire’, Stony Stratford’s historic fires. by Gary Marshall

Lego Competition

There will also be a Lego competition during Lego Club in the Children’s Library from 10.00 am to 12.00 noon. Everyone is welcome to come along, and the competition challenge is to build a castle! Prizes will be awarded by MKHA on the day.
