The Walnut Tree Inn in Blisworth was built by Richard Dunkley originally as a station hotel .

Richard Dunkley, a former builder and railway contractor, is well known in connection with the earlier phases of the London and North-Western Railway.

In Wolverton he built the workshops and most of the early housing stock. He was also awarded the contract to build the new houses in Stantonbury in 1856.
