Tim Richardson will describe the evolution of the English landscape garden across the 18th century by means of ten exemplary gardens, from Castle Howard to Stowe to Painshill. His method is biographical, given that gardens of this period were often expressions of the personalities and beliefs of the people who made them.
Tim Richardson is a well-known writer on gardens and garden history and the author more than 25 books on the subject.
