A look at a number of early lady travellers, some of whom ventured abroad for education and enlightenment, but many to avoid scandal. There were also a number of aristocratic women who were married off in their early teens and who just sought happiness and adventure.
We will follow their journeys across Europe and some as far as the Middle East.
