While researching the more serious aspects of local life – and death – during World War One, members of the Leighton Buzzard Historical and Archaeological Society uncovered some surprising stories about the town and its surrounding villages. All of this was published by the History Press in Sand, Planes and Submarines in 2018.

Delia Gleave, co-editor of the book, will talk about some of the unexpected effects of the war on the home front.

7.45 pm refreshments. All welcome – non members £2.00.
