Buckingham 1369

Buckingham Old Gaol

Until Saturday, 31st August 2019
Market Hill, Buckingham, MK18 1JX

A free exhibition in the courtyard, exploring the lives of 20 men, a group of medieval archers who left Buckingham in 1369 with their longbows, to support King Edward III in the war against France. It has been possible to identify the names of these men, creating the earliest roll-of-honour of Buckingham residents to serve King and Country.

This exhibition also describes how Buckingham looked and worked in the Medieval period, with news of recent local discoveries.
