COACHING

In 1830 there were seven  Coaching Inns in the small north Bucks village of Stoke Goldington, which may seem to be excessive when you consider that the Parish is only just over a mile long (including Eakley)

The small village (population then 735)  provided hospitality and horse changing facilities –

The Bulls Head, Black Dog,  Monarch, George & Dragon,  Coach & Horses,  George Inn and White Lion

By 1850 most of them had gone out of business.
