CENSUS DETAILS *****
CHECK AND REWRITE**************************
Over the past years The Stoke Goldington Association has been developing its Family History Database, and it now includes entries from Census Data for 1851,1861, 1881, 1891 and 1901.
Every effort has been made to make the searches as efficient as possible and the results as detailed as possible. However, researchers from around the world would first have to know of the existence of the database before they could search for names and details. Because all the information is within a database rather on individual web pages, it is invisible to Search Engines like Google.
This section of the site has been developed to rectify the problem and to ensure that if anyone enters a name such as “Mary Kilpin” into Google, then the entry on one of these pages is likely to be found, along with a link to the on-line database.
The lists linked to the menu on the left contain an alphabetical index of all the individual names on the database, together with the years the name was first mentioned and last mentioned.
Note that the lists include known variations and mis-spellings of names, eg the name Tebby also appears as Tebbey. The Index is for data currently available on-line and will be updated with new extensions to the database.
Census surnames
The archive has sets of National Census Returns from 1841 to 1901 for Stoke Goldington/Eakley and some for Gayhurst.
Richard and Nancy Croot spent countless hours transcribing the censuses and listing the family names which appeared in each census.
These are available to search on the website:-
