This is a presentation of the extremely well researched and written book, Black Redcoats, by author, history enthusiast and speaker, Matthew Taylor, who lives locally. He will expertly lead us into the world of this significant and yet little-known piece of American military history.
During the Anglo-American War enslaved African-Americans joined with British forces as a route to freedom. They developed into a corps of Colonial Marines and their exploits – including attacking the half-built White House – formed a remarkable and gripping story.
