NotesSidney was the eldest of 6 siblings. Their mother died in 1917, when Sidney was 10. In the 1921 census Sidney was working at Hurst Farm, WIcken and his father worked in the Smithy at E & H Roberts . Sidney married Marie Best in Darwen Lancashire in July 1941. The couple are believed to have had a daughter, Carol, born 1942
