‘Future of Heritage’ workshop

Saturday, 20th April 2024 from 10.00 am to 1.00 pm

Milton Keynes City Discovery Centre, Bradwell Abbey, Alston Drive, Milton Keynes MK13 9AP

MKHA will be running a free interactive workshop for its members to discuss the Future of Heritage in the Sun Room (5 on the plan below) at City Discovery Centre, Bradwell Abbey,

This will be a great opportunity for MKHA members to discuss the challenges that their groups may be facing, and to share ideas to ensure their future sustainability.

To get you thinking here are some of the identified challenges being faced by MKHA and its membership:
  • Ageing demographics
  • Shrinking committees, nobody willing to stand
  • Falling member numbers
  • Financial viability
  • Rising costs
  • Maintaining interest in activities and developing new ideas
  • The Covid factor?
  • Time pressures – everyone busy, too many demands
  • Engaging younger people
  • Engaging diverse communities – multicultural society
  • Engaging with other organisations.
We hope to see as many member groups as possible at the workshop – if you would like to attend, so that we can finalise arrangements, please e-mail info@mkheritage.org.uk (Maximum two people per group)
