GAYHURST – 1885 PHOTOGRAPHS
In 1885, J W Carlile, the then owner of Gayhurst Estate, commissioned a series of photographs of the house and gardens. Unfortunately the identity of the professional photographer is unknown.
Following the death of Lady Carlile in 1995, the Executors of her estate passed these photographs, together with assorted family papers (see list), to the Stoke Goldington Association for safe keeping.
The photos show not only the interior of the house but the 1885 Regatta, the Rowing club and Boathouse
