Wolverton & District Archaeological and Historical Society

The Society was founded in 1955 with the aim to make the general public more aware and appreciative of the story and history of our locality.

The Society carries out research into the history of Wolverton and the surrounding areas and holds meetings on a variety of historical subjects. It organises visits to places of historic interest, perform walks around the local towns and at times help organise historic celebrations. It also keeps an eye on listed buildings and scheduled monuments in the area and related planning applications.

A number of publications have been produced about the northern part of Milton Keynes, and the Society issues a Newsletter and pamphlets as well as publishing reprints of local history books and collections of postcards.

The Society has a large collection of over 12,000 slides of photographs taken since the 1860s.

Meetings are held at 7.30 pm on the third Wednesday of the month from September to April at St Mary and St Giles C of E School, Stony Stratford.
