MK New Town Heritage Register

The Government has recognised that some of Milton Keynes’s buildings are worthy of national ‘listing’ (e.g. the Shopping Building and Central Library). However, the bar for the listing of post-war assets is set very high, and most new town buildings, spaces, artworks and landscapes will not qualify.

The MK New Town Heritage Register aims to capture those assets that have local interest and contribute to the unique identity of Milton Keynes, identifying them as ‘non-designated heritage assets’.

A selected panel of experts and local stakeholders will make recommendations to Milton Keynes Council for final approval.
