There has been a community at Simpson since Saxon times. By the 20th century Simpson was a small village with about sixty homes. With the advent of the new town of Milton Keynes, Simpson was one of the first areas to experience development and growth.

St Mary’s Church, Bletchley

The church dates from Norman times and is designated Grade I. It is largely Perpendicular in appearance, with some Decorated windows and doorways. The interior has very complete medieval fabric, good medieval roofs, the very fine tomb of Richard, Lord Grey de Wilton, and other interesting monuments.

Stoke Goldington Association

Stoke Goldington is a small village in Buckinghamshire four miles from Newport Pagnell. The Stoke Goldington Association was founded in 1987 with the object of creating a village archive. It meets in The Village Reading Rooms on the last Wednesday of each month. The Archive is stored in The Reading Rooms.

Stowe House Preservation Trust

Stowe House Preservation Trust was established in 1997 to restore and preserve Stowe House. It works with the National Trust and Stowe School to open it to visitors throughout the year. The Trust is currently in the final stage of completing the restoration of the North Hall.

Towcester & District Local History Society

The Towcester and District Local History Society was founded in 1982. The aims of the society are to find out about the history of Towcester and to publicise what has been discovered. Meetings are held on the second Wednesday of the month at the Riverside Centre in Towcester.

Turvey History Society

The rich history of Turvey is  being brought together for the community thanks to Heritage Lottery Fund and Turvey Parish Council funding. The Society is developing a local history website and walking tour app, featuring village voices. Volunteers are being trained in the skills they need to update the site and to make oral history recordings.
