This lecture by Anthony Peers starts with an examination of evolving attitudes towards the British Empire and its buildings. A whistle-stop tour is then made of colonial buildings in Chennai, Kolkata, Mumbai (Bombay), Delhi and elsewhere. The final third of the lecture focuses on the restoration of Mumbai’s George Gilbert Scott designed university buildings.
