There has been a considerable amount of restoration work undertaken at St Laud’s Church since 1960.

  • The nave roof was renewed during the following years, together with some repairs to the stonework.
  • In 1985 work was started to restore several windows at the east and south-east of the Church.
  • A somewhat ugly Victorian reredos (behind the High Altar) was removed and the sanctuary refurbished.
  • There followed the restoration of the West and ‘Chibnall’ windows. The most recently restored window, in the South Aisle, was completed in 1994.
  • The tower roof was rebuilt and the buttresses were repaired in 1996.
  • The bell frame will soon need attention.
