Restoration Work -

There has been a considerable amount of restoration work undertaken at St Laud’s Church since 1960.

The nave roof was renewed during the following years, together with some repairs to the stonework.
In 1985 work was started to restore several windows at the east and south-east of the Church.
A somewhat ugly Victorian reredos (behind the High Altar) was removed and the sanctuary refurbished.
There followed the restoration of the West and ‘Chibnall’ windows. The most recently restored window, in the South Aisle, was completed in 1994.
The tower roof was rebuilt and the buttresses were repaired in 1996.
The bell frame will soon need attention.
