Minutes of the Annual Parish Meeting held on Tuesday 3rd May 2005 in the Village Hall, Sherington commencing at 7.00pm
PRESENT: Cllrs David Hyde (Chair), Peter Cook, David Keene, Peter Burton, Bob Finn and Sarah Jackson.
ATTENDING: Wendy Austyn (Clerk) and 1 public.
1. APOLOGIES: Cllr Lewis.
2. MINUTES OF LAST MEETING: The minutes of the Annual Parish meeting held on 4th May 2004 were agreed as a true record and signed by the Chairman.
3. CHAIRMANS REPORT*:
- Jenny Sharp left the post of clerk in September which was covered for two months by Jayne Hollis before Wendy Austyn took over in November.
- Thanks to John Cook for co-ordinating the building of the new concrete store at Perry Lane
- The garages in the Perry Lane car park were refurbished and painted.
- Stone pits Close has been let for three seasons with an increasing annual rental
- The Village Appraisal was completed and will continue to be revised as necessary.
- The junior football pitch on the Village Hall Play Area has been repaired
- The three large poplar trees at the top end of the Village Hall Play Area will be felled ASAP and replaced with fruit trees.
- A path will be laid on the Village Hall car park this year, close to the hall and with a roughcast finish, easier for prams and wheelchairs but not skateboards.
- Sherington Mound has recently been tidied and a substantial post and rail fence has been erected. Fly-tipping has continued to be a problem here as elsewhere, including the site adjacent to the mound.
- In February the council held an Open Morning to invite comment on a range of issues.
- The SRMG carried out a village survey on Perry Lane Recreation Ground and published a Development Plan. Applications for funding have been submitted and a management committee is soon to be established.
- The council continues to liaise with MKC over the state of the repairs to the road and verges following the recent laying of gas piping.
- The under grounding of electricity cables in Water Lane has been held up, the Council is waiting to see revised plans.
- The proposed new cycle path will now run along the west of the A509. The Council is awaiting plans for the route through Sherington.
- The Chairman then thanked the SRMG, in particular Peter Burton; the new clerk Wendy Austyn; and his fellow councillors for their time and support.
4. FINANCIAL REPORT The clerk reported the following figures:

Total income, including precept of £10,500 | £15,933 |

Including Perry Lane store £5,000, Pavilion repairs £800 | |

Cllr Finn then spoke briefly about the precept.
5. PUBLIC QUESTIONS:
A couple of comments have been made about the %age rise in precept for 2005/2006.
There being no further business the meeting closed at 7.18 pm.
