Articles of agreement made and agreed upon the
second day of January anno dom 1718 between James Freeman
and Jonah Freeman of the City of London, Gent., William Clason of Brayfield on the Green in the County of Northampton, Mason, and William Percivall of the
Town of Northampton Gardener of the first part and Thomas Pettitt senior and Thomas Pettitt of **** the other part both of the Town of Olney in the County of Bucks
Iprimus****. It was then agreed between all of the said parties here-in **** as followeth
That the said James Freeman Jonah Freeman William Clason and William Percivall
for and in consideration of the sum of Five Shillings and sixpence to them in hand
paid by the said Thomas Pettitt senior and Thomas Pettitt junior at the sealing hereof
as an earnest as also for and in consideration of the further sum of Fifty
pounds of lawfull money to be paid to the said James Freeman, Jonah Freeman, William Clason and William Percivall at the sealing of a conveyance of an
Estate hereafter **** which they have agreed to sell, it being Three Messuages or tenements standing and being in the north end of the Town of
Olney after said now in the occupation of Robert Dickens, Mary Coles Widow and Richard Parish
which said tenants were late the inheritance of Samuel Freeman
father of the said James and Jonah Freeman and also father in-law of the
said William Clason and William Percivall and they have all agreed to
sell the same **in?** consideration and for such sums of monies as aforesaid
and do all bind themselves each and all of them by these presents in the
payment of Twenty Five pounds penalty for default of the making
such assurances and conveyances as the said Thomas Pettitt senior and
Thomas Pettitt jun their counsel learned in-law shall advise or
think fit for the conveying of the three tenants with all their rights of
appurtenances according to the true intent and meaning if these presents.
In witness where all of the parties first above named have to this present
Articles of Agreement set their hands and sealed the day and year first
above written and in the fifth year of the reign of our sovereign lord
George King of Great Britain France and Ireland defender of the faith.
