5 Indenture dated 22 September 1736, Doc Ref: odhs012, relating to the Samuel Freeman family

To all people to whom presents shall come Richard Hackman of the parish of St Andrews and Holborn in the County of Middlesex, Cutter, and Sarah his wife late Sarah Freeman and John Freeman of the parish of St Andrews and Holborn aforesaid, Cutter, which said Sarah and John were children and devises with other children of one Samuel Freeman late of Olney in the county of Bucks, Turner, deceased, and mentioned to be each of them minors under the age of one and twenty years in a certain indenture of release from their other brothers and sisters to Thomas Pettitt the elder late of Olney aforesaid, Yeoman, deceased.

Bearing late the six and twentieth day of March in the year of our Lord 1719 having now attained their several and respective ages of one and twenty years send greeting know ye therefore that they the said Richard Hackman and Sarah his wife **** for and in consideration of the five pounds of lawfull money of Great Britain to them the said Richard Hackman and Sarah his wife in hand paid by ****Susanna Pettitt of Olney in the county of Bucks, Widow, and relief of Thomas Pettitt the younger of Olney aforesaid, Shopkeeper, deceased at or before the sealing and delivery hereof and the said John Freeman for and in consideration of the sum of Forty shillings of the lawfull money of Great Britain to him also in hand paid by the said Susanna Pettitt at or before the sealing and delivery hereof the receipt of which said sum Five pounds and Forty shillings and hereby acknowledge they the said Richard Hackman and Sarah his wife and John Freeman have in each and every of them hath promised released and forever quit**** claimed and by the presents do and each and every of them doth for themselves severally and respectively and for several and respective heirs fully freely clearly and absolutely remise release and forever quitclaim unto the said Susanna Pettitt in her full and peaceable possession and seizin now being and to her heirs and assigns for ever sell the estate right title interest claim and demand wht so ever of them the said Richard Hackman and Sarah his wife and John Freeman or either or any of them of in or to all that cottage tenements, yard, orchard, commons, hereditaments thereunto belonging situate**** and being in Olney aforesaid heretofore in the several tenures or occupations of Robert Dickens, Richard Parish and Mary Coles and now in the tenures or occupation of John Griggs and the said Susanna Pettitt or her assignee or assigns or of in or to all and every other of the lands, tenements and hereditaments in Olney aforesaid now belonging to the said Susanna pettitt by any ways or means whatsoever to have and to hold the said cottages or tenements, yards, orchard, commons and hereditaments and all singular other the lands, tenements and premises above mentioned and intended to be hereby released into the said Susanna Pettitt, her heirs and assigns, to the only proper use and behalf of the said Susanna Pettitt her heirs and assigns for ever so that neither they the said Richard Hackman and Sarah his wife nor John Freemen nor their nor either of any of their heirs nor any person or persons of them or either or any of them or in their or either or any of their names or in the name right or stead of either or any of them shall or will by any ways or means whatsoever have any time hereafter have, claim or demand and estate right, title or interest of or in or to the before released premises or any part or parcel thereof and of and from all other estate rights, claims and demands whatsoever which they the said Richard Hackman and Sarah his wife and john Freeman or either or any of them ever had, now have or which their or either of their heirs executed or administrators hereafter should or might have claim or challenge or demanded for or by reason of any matter, cause or thing whatsoever from the beginning of the world to the day of the dte of these presents they each and every of them shall for ever barred and excluded by these presents and also that they the said Richard Hackman and Sarah his wife and John Freeman and their several and respective heirs and the aforesaid cottages or tenements, yards, orchard, commons and hereditaments and all and singular other the land, tenants and premises herein above mentioned to the said Susanna Pettitt, her heirs, assigns against them the said Richard Hackman and Sarah his wife and John Freeman and their several and respective heirs shall and will warrant and forever defend by these presents in witness where the said Richard Hackman and Sarah his wife and John freeman herein set their hands and seals the twenty second day of September in the tenth year of the reign of our soverign Lord George the second by the grace of God of Great Britain, France and Ireland King defender of the faith and so forth and in the year of our lord one thousand seven hundred and thirty six.
