This indenture made the fifth day of April in the twenty sixth year of the reign of our soverign Lord George the second by the grace of God of Great Britain,
France and Ireland King defender of the faith and in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and fifty three between John Gillam of Lavendon in the
county of Bucks labourer and Mary his wife on the one part and Thomas Edmunds of Lavendon aforesaid of the other part witnesseth that the said John Gilliam
and Mary his wife for and in consideration of the sum of seventeen pounds fifteen shillings of good and lawful money of Great Britain to them in hand well and truly paid
by the said Thomas Edmunds on or before sealing and delivering of the presents the receipt they do hereby acknowledge and and thereof of every part and parcel thereof do and each
of them doth acquit exonerate and discharge the said Thomas Edmunds his heirs and assigns for ever by these presents have and each of them hath granted bargained and sold
enfeoffed released and confirmed and by these presents do and each of them doth grant bargain and sell **** enfeoffed **** **** and confirm unto the said Thomas Edmunds his heirs and assigns
for ever that the cottage or tenement and gardens and little barns thereunto adjoining and belonging with these and every of these appurtenances situate standing and being at the north end of the
town of Olney in the said county of Bucks and late in the occupation of Elizabeth Griggs widow the cottages at the north end **** William Maynard the occupation of William Fischer lying on the south
the cottage or tenement of Christopher Dodson on the north the common street or highway on the west and a lane commonly called the town side or east part thereof and also one cow common
and five sheep commons in the common fields of Olney aforesaid to the said cottage belonging or in any wise appertaining or which formerly have been occupied or enjoyed to or with the same
which said cottage or tenement was purchased by the said John Gillam of and from Thomas Reynolds of Harrold in the county of Bedford cooper and Susanna his wife and Thomas Reynolds their son
and heir apparent by indenture of feoffment bearing date the two and twentieth day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and fifty three and where in is particularly
what manner the said Thomas Reynolds came to and had the said premises vested in him relation being thereunto had it may and doth more fully and at large appear and also the reversion and
reversion and remainder and remainder and rents and services of all and singular the said premises above mentioned and every part and parcel thereof with their and every of their appurtenances and also all
estates rights title interest claim and demand whatsoever both in law and equity of them the said John Gillam and Mary his wife of in and to the same and of in and every part and parcel thereof with the
appurtenances and also all deeds evidences and writings touching or concerning the said premises or any part hereof to have and to hold all and singular the said cottage or tenement and premises
above mentioned and every part and parcel thereof with their and every of their appurtenances unto the said Thomas Edmunds his heirs and assigns to the only proper use and and behoof of the said Thomas Edmunds
his heirs and assigns for ever and they the said John Gillam and Mary his wife for themselves their heirs and assigns do covenant and grant to the said Thomas Edmunds his heirs
and assigns that they the said John Gillam and Mary his wife now are and stand or one of them now is and standeth lawfully and rightfully seized in his or their own rights of a good sure free perfect
absolute and indefensible estate inheritance in fee simple of and in all and singular the said cottage or tenement and premises above mentioned and every part and parcel thereof with the
appurtenances without any manner of condition mortgage limitation of **** and **** or other matter cause or thing whatsoever to alter change or determine the same and
also that they the said John Gillam and Mary his wife now have or one of them now hath good right full power and lawful authority in their own right to grant bargain sell and convey
the said cottage or tenement and premises above mentioned with the appurtenances unto the said Thomas Edmund his heirs and assigns to the only proper use and behoof of the said Thomas
Edmunds his heirs and assigns for ever according to the true intent and meaning of these presents and that freed and discharged of and from all former and other bargains sales gifts
grants leases mortgages indentures dowers **** wills entails fines post fines **** seizures bonds annuities and arrears of rents and of and from all other charges
estate right titles **** and incumbrances **** whatsoever had made committed done or suffered or to be had made committed done or suffered by them the said John Gillam and Mary his wife
or any other person or persons whatsoever claiming or to claim by from or under them or any of them the rents and services due to chief lord or lords of the fee or fees of the premises for
the future expected and forsaid and also he the said Thomas Edmunds his heirs and assigns shall and may from time to time and at all times forever hereafter peaceably and quietly have
hold occupy possess and enjoy and singular the said premises above mentioned to be there by granted with the appurtenances without the **** trouble hindrance molestation interruption and denial of them
the said John Gillam and Mary his wife their heirs and assigns and of all and every other person and persons whatsoever claiming or to claim by from or under them or any of them and further
that they the said John Gillam and Mary his wife and their heirs and all and every other person and persons and his and their heirs anything having or claiming in the said cottage or tenements and
premises above mentioned or any part thereof by from or under them or any of them shall and will at all times hereafter at the request and charges of the said Thomas Edmunds his heirs and assigns
make do and execute or cause procure to be made done and executed all and every such further or other lawful and reasonable grants acts and assurances in law whatsoever for the further better and
more perfect granting conveying and assigning of all and singular the said premises hereby granted with the appurtenances unto the said Thomas Edmunds his heirs and assigns forever as by the said
Thomas Edmunds his heirs or assigns or his or their counsel learned in law be reasonably devised or devised and require in witness whereof the parties first above named to these presents
interchangeably have set their hands and seals the day and year first above written
